MIMIC은 성균관대학교 동아리연합회가 주최한 동아리 홍보부스 행사에 참여하여 양일(2026년 3월 11일, 12일) 간 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지 부스를 운영하였다. 이번 부스의 메인 프로그램은 3월 14일 파이 데이를 기념하여 기획한 ‘π를 3등분하라’였으며, 참가자들은 오예스와 빅파이 중 하나를 골라 직접 삼등분한 뒤 세 조각의 무게를 측정하고 표준편차가 작은 순으로 순위를 겨루었다. 수학적 아이디어를 체험형 행사로 풀어낸 이번 프로그램에는 이틀 동안 총 190명의 학우가 참여하며 높은 관심을 보였다. 특히 참신한 방법으로 파이를 3등분하여 순위권에 오른 학우도 있었다.

한편 부스에서는 캐스트 퍼즐도 준비하여, 메인 행사 외에도 참가자들이 가볍게 퍼즐을 풀며 흥미를 느낄 수 있도록 했다. 또한 동아리를 소개하는 시간도 가졌다. 이를 통해 동아리의 활동과 분위기를 보다 편안하게 접할 수 있도록 했다.

이와 같은 홍보부스 운영과 새내기 새로배움터에서의 적극적인 홍보를 바탕으로 MIMIC은 동아리원 150명 이상을 달성하였다. 그 과정에서 수학과 학생들뿐 아니라 수학에 관심을 가진 타과 학생들, 다른 학교 수학과 학생들까지 새롭게 합류하며 구성원의 폭도 한층 넓어졌다. 이는 MIMIC이 수학을 매개로 다양한 학생들이 연결되는 공동체로 확장되고 있음을 보여 주는 성과이기도 하다.

MIMIC took part in the club promotion booth event organized by the Sungkyunkwan University Student Club Association and operated its booth from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both March 11 and 12, 2026. The main program of the booth was “Divide pi into Three Equal Parts,” planned in celebration of Pi Day on March 14. Participants chose either an Oh Yes or a Big Pie, divided it into three pieces themselves, and then competed by measuring the weights of the three pieces and comparing the standard deviation. As a hands-on event built around a mathematical idea, the program drew strong interest, with a total of 190 students participating over the two days. Some students even ranked highly through especially inventive ways of trisecting the pie.

MIMIC also prepared cast puzzles at the booth so that visitors could enjoy a lighter mathematical activity alongside the main event. The booth further included an introduction to the club, helping students get to know MIMIC’s activities and atmosphere in a more comfortable way.

Supported by the active promotion carried out both through the booth and at the freshman orientation program, MIMIC grew to more than 150 members. In the process, not only students from the Department of Mathematics but also students from other departments who were interested in mathematics, as well as mathematics students from other universities, newly joined the club. This reflects how MIMIC continues to expand as a community that connects a wide range of students through mathematics.
